Warm air holds more moisture in the form of vapor in the atmosphere of the bathroom. But when the air in contact with cold surfaces this one can no longer retain moisture. Bathroom surfaces, such as the ones in the windows and tiles, are prone to constant condensation.

Condensation may occur in ceilings, walls and floors also. Moisture often goes unnoticed until it grows mold, or some of the bath materials begin to rot from inside out. Therefore, it is important to maintain an ideal temperature to prevent condensation. The ideal solution is to keep the room properly ventilated.

The steam shower is the most common source of moisture in the bathroom and can easily form mist or fog over the surface of the bathroom mirror and furniture with glass, or ceramic on. If moisture from bathroom surfaces is not removed then it can cause mold to grow on these surfaces.

If the bathrooms are not ventilated and remain closed they can foster an environment that generates condensation; installing a fan in the bathroom can help you get rid of moisture formation; simply use it every time you bathe to prevent moisture from accumulating inside the bathroom. If you do not have a fan then you should consider installing one of these devices.

A cheaper solution is to open the bathroom windows to let out moisture when bathing. Installing permanent ventilation grilles it’s not usually recommended because sometimes they retain moisture within the place installed. Do not hang wet clothes inside the bathroom as it encourages the formation of moisture. Wet clothes can cause the mirrors and windows to be moistened.
